Program Overview
Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease is one of six programs offered in the Diabetes Simplified Series. The Diabetes Simplified series aims to provide practical approaches to diabetes care that practitioners can immediately implement in their practices, based on the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines.
This eLearning reviews the guideline recommendations for management of type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD) with a focus on initiating guideline recommended therapy in people with type 2 diabetes and CKD.
This program has been certified by the College of Family Practice of Canada for up to 2 MainPro+ credits.

Lisa Maks
RN, MN, CDE
Lisa has 35 years of nursing experience with 19 years in the diabetes field. She has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 2004.
Lisa was a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist with the Hamilton Health Sciences Centre from 2011 – 2021
Lisa recently started in a newly created position in BC as the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist for Providence Healthcare in January 2022.
