Most of my clinical background and experience is in cardiology and cardiac surgery, so I do feel pretty comfortable discussing HF management with my patients with diabetes. As I am new to my role in diabetes education, I now must consider the drug-drug interactions between SGLT2-i and loop diuretics as often, in my previous experience, SGLT2i are held during a patient’s acute care stay. The “Practical approach to SGLT2 inhibitors for treatment of cardiovascular disease” tool mentioned in this course is a great resource, and one I will use in my practice moving forward when considering these interactions.
