Program Overview
Diabetes and Mental Health is one of six programs offered in the 2023 Diabetes Simplified Series. The Diabetes Simplified series aims to provide practical approaches to diabetes care that practitioners can immediately implement in their practices, based on the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines.
This eLearning reviews the relationship between diabetes and mental health, the concept of diabetes distress and how to screen for it. Lastly, it applies select 2023 guideline recommendations to managing patients with diabetes and mental health disorders.
This program has been certified by the College of Family Practice of Canada for up to 2 MainPro+ credits.

Dave Robinson
MD, FRCPC, MCFP
Dr. Dave Robinson has worked a general adult psychiatrist for 30 years in the London Ontario area. A self-confessed slow learner, he worked in general hospitals for 22 years before finally figuring out what a statutory holiday was actually supposed to be.
He has been the lead author for the Mental Health chapter in the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines for the past 10 years, and you may know him from the books he’s written for Rapid Psychler Press.
